SRAC Annual Prize Giving - And the Nominees Are.....

Stornoway Running and Athletics Club's SRAC's annual prizegiving will be held on Saturday 25th February in the Stornoway Golf Club at 7.00pm. The cost of the tickets will be £10.00 per adult and £5.00 per junior. For those with 2 adults and 2 or more juniors there will be a family rate of  £25.00.

The programme for the evening will be

Doors open - 7.00pm
Buffet- 7.30 to 8.30
Prizegiving - 8.30 to 9.30
Dance and laughs - 9.30 to late

We will have a raffle in aid if SRAC funds,during the evening with loads of wonderful prizes.

I will collect the money at the door on the night so please ensure your hand is stamped once you pay your entry fee!

In the past this has always been a successful and enjoyable event with athletes being rewarded and recognised for their hard work and achievements over the previous Cross Country and Track and Field season. There are a number of awards given out and we do not just concentrate on the fastest or strongest athletes in the Club.

Athletes have been asked to complete the performance forms which Ross has sent out. The Coaches then take these into account as well as commitment and enthusiasm to training to determine who should be getting the awards. The awards are presented to athletes of ALL age groups and are a current member of SRAC.

We have had a good number of new coaches putting in a lot of effort last year and it is always satisfying for the coaches themselves to see the athlete’s achievements being recognised and in effect their time and effort in coaching also being recognised.

We would be grateful if you could attend this event to encourage the efforts which the athletes and the coaches have put in but moreover to bring all the members of the Club together in a relaxed fun evening. When the membership list was last updated in November we had 200 members which is a fantastic amount for any Club. Parents and athletes who are not currently members of SRAC are also encouraged to attend the event as it is hoped that many of these will join the Club in 2012.
