Heb3 2007 final results

An amazing 66 runners completed at least three of the five Hebridean half marathons, to claim their specially-commissioned running vest. Nine runners completed all five races.

The record numbers this year, contributed to a very competitive competition, particularly in the team prize, which was won again by Portobello Running Club, despite going into the last race in Harris, behind Forres Harriers. Well done to both teams, as well as all the other teams who took part.

The winning team was presented with a £200 cash prize, and the N&C Recruitment Shield, both donated by Buck Mackaskill.

The Race series was won by Toby Laver, of Forres Harriers, in a total time of 3:56:56 for his three races, less than 4 minutes ahead of Ben Kemp, of Portobello. Elaine Phipps of Forres won the female title, in a time of 4:31:35. Both Toby and Elaine ran three races, in between these, they went to South Africa to compete in the gruelling 56-mile Comrades Marathon.

Note that for this year series, both male and female were in categories over 40 and over 50. Also, prizes were awarded in under 40, over 40, and over 50 (not for the overall finishing position).
