Every Hogmanay, before dawn, a minibus full of
the club's hardiest souls leaves for the Flett trek. This fun run has
grown from the inaugural Ross Munro and Dougie Flett run from Urgha to
Rheinigidale, that year they had a sandwich and a beer in the lee of a
ruined house in Maaruig.
Nowadays it is a slick operation involving two
choices of route, a swim at Loch Trollamus, a shower at the Rheinigidale
Youth Hostel, followed by a feast, mulled wine and a few beers.
All this and back in town before four o'clock -
what better way to prepare for the bells. |
